UPSHUR COUNTY - HENDERSON CEMETERY


Graveside services for Jonathan "Ted" Henderson, 80, of Ore City, will be at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, October 2, 2008, at the Henderson Family Cemetery in Ore City. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. 

Mr. Henderson passed away on September 29, 2008, at his residence. 

Ted was born December 30, 1927, in Memphis, Tenn., to Everett and Marguerite Henderson. He was of the Baptist faith and a former trustee of Ore City I.S.D. School Board. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1950- 1953, and retired from Friedman Industries as vice president of operations. 

He is survived by his wife, Willie Mae Henderson; sons and daughters-in-law, Howard and Anita Henderson of Ore City, and Jay and Lynn Henderson of Kaufman; daughters and sons-in-law, Suzanne and Dennis Mitchell of Longview, and Melinda and Steve Hathaway of Ore City; sisters and brothers-in-law, Norma Jean and Texan Call of Wimberly, Marion and A.C. Travillo of Gilmer, Amber and Claude Gardner of Iverness, Miss.; grandchildren, Keshia Hampton, Elizabeth and James Acuna, Captain Jonathan Henderson, M.D., and Emily Henderson and her fiancé, Jay Strode; two great-grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; and 11 step great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
