Services for Joyce Walker Hanes, 94, of Gladewater will be Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Scotty Fife officiating. Interment will follow services at Gladewater Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 27, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater. Mrs. Hanes passed away on Monday, July 25, 2016 in Gladewater.

Mrs. Hanes was born July 10, 1922 in Jacksonville, Texas to the late Henry Walker and Ernestine Lyons. Joyce was a Real Estate Agent and owned Hanes Real Estate for more than 25 years. Mrs. Hanes was very involved with the Gladewater Chamber of Commerce serving as president from 1990-1991 and was honored as the Gladewater Woman of the Year in 1984 and 1985 as well as the Bradley Award in 1993. She also garnered the Woman of the Year in the Business and Professional Women’s Club in 1985/1986. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker. Joyce will be truly missed by all the loving family and friends she leaves behind.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Gaye Glenn and husband, Johnny of Gladewater; son, Gregory Scott Hanes of Gladewater; sister, Ethel Mullins of Henderson; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren as well as many other loving family and friends.

Mrs. Hanes is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Homer Hanes, one brother, three sisters and a grandchild.
