Johnson, Goree

Services for Goree Johnson, 99, of Gilmer, will be 1 p.m. 
Sunday, January 21, 2007, at Pittsburgh High School 
Auditorium, with the Rev. B.R. Hargest officiating. 
Interment will be in Hickory Hill Cemetery. Arrangements 
are by Johnson Funeral Home. Mr. Johnson died January 12, 
2007, in Gilmer. Born December 8, 1907, in Pittsburg, he 
was retired from Lone Star Steel Co. and a member of Living 
Green Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Virginia 
R. Johnson; sons, Goree Johnson Jr., Mellorn Johnson, Pawn 
Daniels, Willie Charles Johnson, and Kennard Johnson; and 
daughters, Betty Mae Barnette, Gwinnette Bates, Myrdis 
Edwards, Levera Hill, Betty Jean Smith, and Tonya Polk.
