GILMER - Graveside services for Winnie Johnson, 73, of Gilmer, will 
be at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 31, 2008, at Enon Cemetery in Upshur 
County, with Brother Pete Dugger officiating. Arrangements are under 
the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer.
Mrs. Johnson passed away on Monday, January 28, 2008, in Tyler.
Mrs. Johnson was born January 19, 1935, in Rhonesboro, to Arthur and 
Annie Mae Shaver. She was a retired file clerk from U.T. Health Center 
and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Arthur 
Ray Shaver.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband of 55 years, W.C. Johnson of 
Gilmer; sons, Kenneth Johnson of Gilmer, Richard Johnson of Gilmer, 
and Morris and Susan Johnson of Augusta, Kansas; daughters, Rose and 
Mike Bowen of Jacksonville, and Kathy and Glenn Barnett of Lindale; 
brother, Melvin Don Shaver of Mount Pleasant; sisters, Loretta and 
Gerald Holmes, Ila Neil and June Hill; nine grandchildren, Kim Fischer, 
Aaron Bowen, Kelly Caldwell, Zach Jones, Karl Johnson, Morissa Johnson, 
Mandy Commander, Jennifer Canup and Joshua Smith; and several great-
grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
No formal visitation will be held.
