UPSHUR COUNTY - WILLOW OAK CEMETERY Earl Julian, of Pittsburg, passed away Saturday, August 20 at the age of 91. Mr. Julian was born August 3, 1925 in Leesburg to Henry Louie Julian and Annie Cleo Scarborough Julian. Durign World War 2 he joined the US Navy in 1943 and served until honorably discharged in 1945. While stationed in California he met and later married Mary Katheryn Pilgrim. After his military service Earl attended Tyler Commerical College, and graduated with an accounting diploma in 1946. He was a past Camp County Judge, and also Camp County Auditor. Mr. Julian also enjoyed careers with both Lone Star Steel and Camp County Building Supply. He was also long time rancher. Mr. Julian was a member of 1st Baptist Church in Pittsburg, and had been a prior member of Pine Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon for many years. Earl is survived by his two daughters: Jennifer Scudder and husband Phil of Mt. Pleasant; and Jo Lange and husband Randy of Pittsburg; 3 grandchildren: Lara Rowe and husband Brad of Mt. Pleasant; Robin Downing and husband Scott of Happy, Texas; and Julian Chet Lange of Buda, Texas; as well as 6 great-grandchildren: Mary Katheryn Rowe, Madelyn Rowe, Benjamin Rowe, Emma Rowe, Brooke Downing, and Mitchell Downing; along with a host of nieces and nephews and many friends, especially a very dear friend and care giver, Mrs. Inese Palmer. He was preceded in death by his parents: Henry and Annie Julian; his first wife: Mary Katheryn Julian (Pilgrim); his second wife: Dorris Faye Julian (Carpenter); and two sisters: Ora Lee Parker and Earnestine Bullard. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 22 at the funeral home. With burial to follow at Willow Oak Cemetery in Upshur County. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. preceeding the funeral service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Cypress Basin Hospice, the Pine Baptist Church, or the Pine Community Center.
