SHADY GROVE CEMETERY - UPSHUR COUNTY George Kendall, 85 of Gilmer formerly of Gladewater will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Gilmer Church of Christ with Dale Thomas. Mr. Kendall passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2015. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Interment will be at Shady Grove Cemetery. Mr. Kendall was born in Strong City, OK. to Paul Edward and Merle Walker Kendall. He served in the U. S. Air Force. Mr. Kendall was an Elder at both the Quitman and Center Street Church of Christ in Gladewater and Gilmer Church of Christ and Sunday School Teacher. He worked in the maintenance and transportation department for 30 years in Gladewater and Texarkana ISD. Mr. Kendall was a charter member of Gladewater Kiwanis and Past President of Gladewater Little League. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, William D. Kendall. Mr. Kendall is survived by his wife of 64 years, Pat Kendall of Gilmer; sons and daughters-in-law, Ed and Kathy Kendall of Gladewater, Doug and Sharon Kendall of Gladewater; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and LeRoy Telgemeyer of Mt. Pleasant; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Marilynn Kendall of Houston, Dr. James and Becky Kendall of Denton; sister-in-law, Sharon Kendall of Houston; seven grandchildren, Meredith Reynolds and husband Aaron, Jarrod Kendall, Cherry Downs and husband Kyle, Emily Jester and husband, Jeffery, Salinda McCubbins and husband Brandon, Seth Telgemeyer and wife, Kara and Sarah Telgemeyer and eight great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Aaron Reynolds, Jarrod Kendall, Kyle Downs, Jeffery Jester, Brandon McCubbins and Seth Telgemeyer. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Hill and Frank Dupree.
