GILMER - Services for Mrs. Irma Jo Carter Kennimer, 73, of Gladewater, will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2009, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Bro. Dick Casey and the Rev. Aubrey Pate officiating and burial to follow in Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer. She passed away in Gladewater on Tuesday, May 12, 2009. 

Mrs. Kennimer was born on November 10, 1935, in Gilmer, to Henry and Erma Elms Carter. She was employed with Resistol Hat and retired from Wal-Mart in Longview. Mrs. Kennimer was called the Mother of the Year by her family. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Billy, Gordon Russell and Eric Carter. 

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Arlie Kennimer of Gladewater; sons and daughters-in-laws, David and Terry Kennimer of Agana Guam, Gary and Kathy Kennimer of Porter, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and David Lemely of McDade, Texas, Julia and David Boyd of Longview; brother, Johnny Carter of Gilmer and his friend, Joyce; brother-in-law and his wife, John and Pat Cordray of Carthage; sister, Laura McLendon of Garland; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends. 

Pallbearers will be Marty McClendon, Ronnie Smith, Ricky Pace, David Boyd, Robbie Kennimer and David Lemely. Honorary Pallbearers are Tommy Click, Brandon Green and Ronald Mayo.
