MATTOX CEMETERY - UPSHUR COUNTY


Gerri Kopp, 74 of Longview, went to be with her Lord and Savior 
Saturday, November 2, 2014.

She was born in Doctortown, Georgia, and has been a resident of 
Longview since 2006.

Gerri worked in the restaurant industry for fifty-two years. She 
also worked and retired from Lee County Schools in Ft. Meyers, 
Florida.

Gerri was a member of Mobberly Baptist Church of Longview. She was 
very active in many outreach programs. She loved spending time with 
her family, church, and friends. She was involved in the Senior 
Women’s Group and SALT at Mobberly Baptist Church. She was a resident 
of Eden Place and was active in the Residents Association.

Gerri was admired and respected. She worked hard and raised her 
daughter well. She was honest and talented in so many ways. She had 
a great sense of humor, and was just a joy to be around. She was 
loving, and always ready to help anyone.

She is survived by her daughter Roxanne and her husband Gregg Gipe 
of Diana, Texas, grandson Adam and his wife Meagan Gibbons of 
Longview, Texas, sister Bernadette and her husband Bill Washington 
of Yoakum, Texas, brothers Smiley and his wife Beckie Dixon of Madera, 
California, Edmond and his wife Linda Dixon of Palm Bay Florida, 
several nieces and nephews, and one precious granddaughter, Kolbi 
Shea.

She is preceded in death by her parents James and Callie Dixon and 
brothers, JW Dixon, and Charlton Dixon.

In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the American Cancer 
Association.

Friends are welcome to join the family from 6pm-8pm Friday, November 
7, 2014 at Rader Funeral Home in Longview for a time of visitation. 
Funeral services will be the next day, Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 
the funeral home starting at 10am with interment to follow at Mattox 
Cemetery in Diana, TX.
