Lindsey, Gwendloyn Tosh Sept 16, 2002 Gilmer - Servides for Gwendolyn Tosh Lindsey, 85, of Gilmer will be held at 10 a..m. Wednesday, Sept 18, 2002, at the Church of Christ of Latter-day Saints in Gilmer. Burial will be in Kelsey Cemetery in Upshur County. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home of Gilmer.  Gwendolyn Tosh Lindsey departed this life at 2:02 a.m. Saturday, Sept 14, 2002, three days after her 85th birthday. Gwen was born Sept 10, 1917, in Franklin County, Tx. She married Don C Lindsey on May 4, 1946. This marriage was followed by three sons and a daughter, Orval Lindsey and his wife, Carolyn, of Quitman; Bill Lindsey and his wife, Molly, of Kailua, Hawaii; Mary Martha Seahorn and her husband, Don, of Gilmer and Tim Lindsey and his wife, Joni, of Longview. Gwen was also a mother to Delbert Lindsey, Travis Lindsey, Myrlene Rast, Darrell Lindsey and Done Lindsey Jr. At the time of her death, she had 34 grandchildren, 81 great-grandchildren and 49 great-great-grandchildren. Gwen was preceded in death by her husband, Don; two stepsons, Delbert and Travis; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Gwen was a member of the Gilmer 1st Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served her church and community faithfully all the days that her health would allow. She served a full-time mission for the church in the Idaho Pocatella mission. Gwen was a retired schoolteacher. Gwen's interests were many and varied. She loved the outdoors. She loved to build and create. She loved her family and had a great interest in genealogy. She loved to do things with her talented hands. It could be playing the piano, building some kind of contraption, driving or fixing a tractor, milking a cow or riding a horse. She was active in everything that was family, school or church. She loved her neighbors and dedicated much energy in seeing to their welfare. She leaves a great legacy to her family and to those who knew her - a legacy defined in kindness, charity, hard work and faith.
