Obituary for Mr. Junior Lansdale

Services for Junior Lansdale, 87, of Gilmer will be held 10 A.M. Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the chapel of McWhorter Funeral Home with Bro. Dicky Mauk and Bro. Wayne McKay officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 P.M.-8 P.M. Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the funeral home.

Mr. Lansdale was born in East Mountain to Gus and Ella Mae Lansdale on May 12, 1929.  He was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. He served as a deacon from 1989 at Calvary Baptist Church and later at Oak Hill Baptist Church. Junior served as a fireman for Winnsboro and Gilmer for 30 years. He worked for Martin Lumber Company in Winnsboro which later moved to Gilmer, He then worked for LeTourneau in Longview for 10 years. Mr. Lansdale and his son were co-owners of Lansdale Radio & T.V. Repair in Gilmer for many years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Daughter; Ronda Gail Lansdale, Brothers; Joe and Urban Lansdale, 3 sisters; Lois Bryant, Evelyn Fielden, and Ella Ruth Stolle.

Junior is survived by his wife of 68 years; Dorothy Saxon Lansdale. Children, Larry Lansdale and his wife Debbie; Shirley Hoffpauir and her husband Jack. Brother, Willie Lansdale; grandchildren; Thomas Lansdale, John and Jessica Hoffpauir, also Kerri and Johnny Ramos. Great grandchildren, Angel Ramos, Alexandrea, Abigail, Ty, Joesie, and Dorsey Junior “D.J.” Hoffpauir, Kaylin Miles-Hoffpauir and Johnny Ramos III.
