Tammy Marie Long Born: March 26, 1972 Died: February 01, 2016 A celebration of life for Tammy Marie Long, 43, of Gladewater will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gladewater. Tammy passed away Monday, February 1, 2016 in Longview. Tammy was born March 26, 1972 in Longview to Robert Leslie “Buzz” Long and Patricia Francis Halliday. She was a 1990 graduate of Gladewater H.S. where classmates considered her the class clown. Tammy was quick-witted, humorous, a practical joker and would do “anything for a laugh”. She was a gifted athlete and softball player, and was known among teammates as “Big 6”. Tammy never met a stranger and had friends from all walks of life. She enjoyed fishing, Galveston, outdoor sports, crafts, photography, and social media. She also loved animals, especially her dog Bevo that she treated like her child. Tammy’s family was first and foremost in her life. She loved and supported them unconditionally. She was an avid fan of the Gladewater Bears, Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns. She was also a friend to fire and law enforcement, in particular Texas Game Wardens. Tammy will be remembered for her love of life, living in the moment and bringing joy to others. Tammy was preceded in death by her father, R.L. “Buzz” Long, and grandparents, Leslie and Juanita Long of Gladewater, and George and Helen Halliday of Catawissa, Pennsylvania. She is survived by her mother Patricia Longest; two brothers and sisters-in-law Scott and Debbie Long and Todd and Brooke Long; sister and brother-in-law Pam and Richard Palmer; nieces and nephews Brian Long, Shelley Boyce, Blane Palmer, Spencer Palmer, Jordan Palmer, Tate Long and Lylah Long; her “son” Bevo as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and many close friends. The family will receive friends following the services at Croley Funeral Home.
