Marshall, Gertrude Lula KILGORE - Services for Gertrude "Trudy" Marshall, 91, of Longview, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, August 27, 2007, at the chapel of Rader Funeral Home, with the Reverend James Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in Gladewater Memorial Park. Mrs. Marshall passed away on Friday, August 24, 2007, in Longview. Mrs. Marshall was born November 5, 1915, in Okemah, Oklahoma, to Leonard and Mary Alice Vaughn, who preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Longview High School and Kilgore Junior College. At the age of 16, she married Virgil Blankenship. The couple later moved to Fort Worth, Texas, where they owned and operated several restaurants during the 1940s and 1950s. After the death of Mr. Blankenship, she married Mickey Marshall in 1970. Mrs. Marshall worked for Sears in the mail order division. She and Mickey loved to travel, and she was always ready when someone said, "Go." Mrs. Marshall loved to entertain, and she enjoyed preparing the food for her parties. Mrs. Marshall was preceded in death by her parents; and her husbands, Virgil Blankenship and Mickey Marshall. She is survived by three nephews, Bill Vaticalos of Longview, Robert Vaticalos of Dallas, and Don Wilcox of Bellingham, Washington; a niece, Elaine Frederick of Austin; a great- nephew, George Mayo; a great-niece, Stephanie Hearne and husband Doug; five great-great- nieces, Baillie and Dodson Hearne, Britney Ondress, Vanessa, and Lauren Mayo; three stepdaughters, Patricia Griffith and husband, James, Margaret Paulsel and husband, Vince, and Paula Aikin and husband, Harrold, all of Huntsville, Texas; eight step grandchildren; nine step great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Pauline Marshall of Socorro, New Mexico; and two dear friends, Cleburne McAlister of Longview, and Don Schuster of Dallas.
