Services for Charles W. Moore, 80, of Gilmer will be held 11a.m. Saturday December 10, 2016 at the chapel of McWhorter Funeral Home with Rev. Huey Jones and Rev. F.L. Curry officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park. 

The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m. Friday December 9, 2016 at the funeral home.

Bro. Charles W. Moore was born February 11, 1936 to the union of Zimmer Moore and Annie B. Johnson, to this union 6 children were born, 2 who have preceded Bro. Charles in death; David Moore and Fannie Moore. Charles passed away Sunday December 4, 2016 in Longview.

Charles joined Mt. Gilead Baptist Church at an early age and later moved to Dallas where he graduated from Waxahachie High School. He later attended Paul Queen College and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army.

In 1960 he married Mary Jo Cregler to this union one son was born Charles A. Moore. In 1970 Charles and his family moved to Gilmer where he and his wife joined Gilgal Baptist Church. Charles worked and retired from Upshur Rural Electric Coop.

Charles leaves to mourn his sons; Charles A. Moore and Tony Jones and wife Connie; daughter Mary Taylor and husband Louis. Brother Luster Moore; sisters, Mary Hunter and Lillie Moody. Sister in laws; Annie Hargest, Dorothy Preston, Juanita Hatten, and Ruth Hardy. Grandchildren LaDarien Taylor, Deraund Logan and Shameika Allen. Great grandchildren, Kennedi Allen and Vaughn Logan.
