Payton, Frances Estelle (Roberts) DIANA -- Funeral services for Frances Estelle Payton, 77, of Ore City, will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 2006, at First Methodist Church in Ore City, with the Reverend John Whitehurst officiating. Interment will follow in Ore City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Mrs. Payton passed away Friday, April 21, 2006, at her apartment in Longview. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday evening, April 22, 2006, at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. She was born July 17, 1928, in Roanoke, Alabama, to the late James and Johnnie Roberts. She retired from Texas Commerce Bank in 1989, where she served as a bank officer. She was an active member of the First Methodist Church in Ore City, Eastern Star, and Ore City Garden Club, where she had many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy L. Payton; her parents; and her sister, Bette Lassater. Mrs. Payton is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Karen Payton of Mansfield, and Mike and Jan Payton of Longview; four grandchildren, Chad Payton of White Oak, Brandon Payton of Dallas, Adam Payton of Lubbock, and Brent Payton of Mansfield. The family wishes to thank Heart'sWay Hospice and the doctors and nurses at Longview Cancer Center for their care and attention during Frances' illness.
