Phillips, Ruth Annis Burnett Salt Lake Tribune - Wednesday, May 1, 2002  Ruth Annis Burnett Phillips passed away, Sunday April 28, 2002, one month short of age 96. She was born June 5, 1906 in Kelsey, Texas to Rosa Cornelia Lee and James Samuel Burnett. She was baptized in Kelsey Creek at age 8. She was one of six children, preceded in death by her five siblings.  She married Edward Cordon Phillips on January 21, 1926 in Farmington, Utah, sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on March 17, 1926. She was an active member of the Liberty Park Ward for over 60 years.  She was preceded in death by her husband and three children, Ruth Leida Phillips, Lorenzo Ray Phillips and James Samuel Phillips, and one grandson, Larry Phillips Campbell.  She is survived by two living children, son Edward Cordon Phillips Jr. of Stone Mountain, Georgia and daughter Esther Ann Phillips of Salt Lake City; 10 grandchildren, 14 great- grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. She enjoyed a special and close relationship with her grandson, Jeff Phillips, his wife Tammy and their children Eric and Alex.  She was a homemaker always, and her favorite employment was the many years she worked at the Salt Lake Temple.  Graveside services will be held Friday May 3, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Ave. and N Street.
