Poole, Richard Bruce GILMER - Graveside services for Richard Bruce Poole, 85, of Gilmer, will be held at 2 p.m. today, July 4, 2007, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, with Dr. J. Prentiss McGee officiating. He was born October 14, 1921, in Upshur County, to Lonnie Poole and Charo Pilcher, and he passed away on Monday, July 2, 2007, in Longview. Mr. Poole served in the U.S. Navy during World War II , and he was a cattle farmer. He received his 60-year pin from Big Sandy Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wynona Poole, in 2006. Mr. Poole is survived by his four sons, Bruce Allen Poole of Minnesota, Barry Poole of Big Sandy, Danny Poole of Arlington and Jerry Don Poole of Big Sandy; two brothers, Jessie L. Poole of Fruitvale and Paul Poole of Gainesville; sister, Katherine Belcher of Mesquite; nine grandchildren; and 14 great- grandchildren.
