Potter, Ollie J. GILMER -- Services for Ollie J. Potter, 96, of Gilmer, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2006, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel of Gilmer, with the Rev. J.C. Henderson and the Rev. Paul Knight officiating. Masonic graveside services will follow in City Cemetery. A lifelong resident of Gilmer, Texas, he was born May 23, 1909, and he died Saturday, May 13, 2006. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. A retired employee of Lone Star Steel, he was a member of First Baptist Church, and he was a Mason. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Potter of Gilmer; two sons, John Potter of Gilmer, and James Champion of Ore City; one stepson, Pat Weeks of Lewisville, Kentucky; one stepdaughter, Dinnia Smith of Shreveport; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
