Pruitt Sr., James Armistead "Buddy" GILMER -- Services for James A. "Buddy" Pruitt Sr., 86, of Gilmer, will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, December 17, 2006, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel, with Philip Bryant and Dean Haws officiating. Burial will follow in Pyland Cemetery of Marion County, Texas. Mr. Pruitt passed away on Friday, December 15, 2006, in Gilmer. He was born January 28, 1920, in Lassater, Texas, to James Ivy and Hattie Janet Bennett Pruitt. Mr. Pruitt served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a wood yard foreman for International Paper Co. until his retirement, a former member of the Gilmer Lions Club, school board and city council member, and a member of First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Rosie Lee Pruitt of Gilmer; sons and daughters-in-law, James "Buz" Pruitt Jr. of Gilmer, and Alan and Deana Pruitt of Gilmer; daughters and son-in-law, Janidell and Philip Bryant of Kelsey Community, and Kathy Lindsey of Gilmer; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Amanda and Ennis Gage, Jared and Brandi Bryant, Misti and Eric Mills, Matthew Lindsey, Ashley Pruitt, Adam Pruitt, Anna Pruitt, and Alise Pruitt; and three great-grandchildren, Colton Gage, Elizabeth Mills, and Alaina Mills. Pallbearers will be Jared Bryant, Matthew Lindsey, Adam Pruitt, Colton Gage, Eric Mills, and Ennis Gage. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Calvert, Herbert Young, Bo Willis, Scott Green, Al Glen Hart, Weldon Cook, and Bud Barnhart.
