Pyle, Howard Oscar GILMER -- Funeral services for Howard Oscar Pyle, 79, of Ore City, will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 24, 2006, at Coffeeville Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Hoffpauir, the Rev. Steve Dugger and the Rev. Tom Hale officiating. Interment will be 2 p.m. Monday, in the Pyle Prairie Cemetery in Kemp, Texas. Mr. Pyle passed away Friday, April 21, 2006 in a Longview hospital. Mr. Pyle was born September 19, 1926, in Kemp, Texas, to William and Amelia Titlow Pyle. He was a retired Systems Technician with SBC Telephone, a union officer for 30 years, president of the Communication Workers of America Local 6132 of Austin, a U.S. Navy seaman first class and a member of the Coffeeville Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Keith Pyle of Ore City; two sons and daughters-in-laws, David & Ruthie Pyle of Gilmer, and Daniel and Samran Pyle of Austin; two sisters, Flora Hallmark of Forney, and Norma Johnson of Houston; five grandchildren, Major Erin Pyle of Vienna, Virginia, Melanie Apiwan of Lawndale, California; Zachary Pyle of Phoenix, Arizona, Malachi Pyle of Gilmer, and Evelyn Elizabeth Pyle & husband, Thomas Tutt, of Fort Worth. Pallbearers will be Al Walker, Bubba Pendarus, Mike Gipson, Larry Petty, Tommy Payne and Theron Turner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Parsons, Wilson Steedley, George Morgan, Aubrey Spence, Andy Milburn, Chip Strayhorn and Ray Flores.
