SUNSET MEMORIAL PARK - GILMER Plummer, B.A. Services for B.A. Plummer, 90, of Longview, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, February 18, 2008, at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel, with Robert Johnson and Dan Manuel officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park of Gilmer. Mr. Plummer died Thursday morning, February 14, 2008, at a local hospital. He was born May 2, 1917, in the James Community of Upshur County. A former resident of Gilmer and longtime resident of Longview. B.A. was a member of the Longview Church of Christ. He served with the U.S. Army's 68th medical regiment during World War II and was retired from Texas Eastman where he was employed as a boiler fireman. B.A. was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Until he was unable to do so because of health, he was active in church work and was known locally as a very talented clock repairman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred in 1991. He is survived by his daughters, Gay Von Townsend and husband, Buddy of Thorndale, Audrey Manuel and husband, Dan of Palestine, and Cindy Samford of Longview; grandchildren, Danna Collins, Amanda Lane, Rena Samford and Miranda Samford; great-grandchildren, Luke Lane, Chloe Collins and Clayton Collins; a sister-in-law, Nellie Plummer of Diana; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Sunday afternoon, February 17, 2008, at Rader Funeral Home.
