UPSHUR COUNTY Floyd “Peck” Pendarvis 1930 -2016 Memorial services for Floyd “Peck” Pendarvis, 86, formerly of Diana will be held at 7 p. m., June 2, at New Life Assembly of God Church in Ore City, with the Bro. James Smith officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. He died on Sunday, May 29. Floyd was born Feb. 3, 1930 in Moselle, Miss. to William and Arnthia Pendarvis. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a POW in Korea for 37 months. He received the Purple Heart for his service to his country. Floyd later worked as a supervisor in the oil field. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Chastain Pendarvis; son, Earl Spears; daughter, Vicky Spears; step-son, Johnny Fenlaw; step-daughters, Vicki Hall and Gail Livingston; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Billie Pendarvis; four brothers and two sisters.
