Services for Violet Marie Prater, 83, of Palestine will be held Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints with Bishop Rick Jenson officiating. Burial will be in Kelsey Cemetery in Gilmer.

She was born to Aaron Matthew and Mary Marie Vaughn Lane.
Mrs. Prater was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marion Prater in 2002; sister Maurine Fread; and brother Edward Lane.

Survivors are daughters Ann Marie Talbert and husband J.B. Jr., Mary Hardy; sons Marion Joseph Prater and wife Alice and Allen Prater and wife Lorinda; brother Victor Lane and wife Mary Wanda; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
