GILMER -- Services for Yvonne Ray, 77, of Gilmer, will be held 
2 p.m. today, December 28, 2006, at Croley Funeral Chapel in 
Gilmer. Mrs. Ray passed away Monday, December 25, 2006, in 
Longview. She was born December 16, 1929, in Wortham, to Walter 
Wesley Day and Evalena Williams Day. She married Horace Ray on 
March 31, 1947, in Upshur County and was a member of First Baptist 
Church in Gilmer. Mrs. Ray retired from the Department of Human 
Services and was the past matron of the Gilmer Chapter 355 Order 
of Eastern Star. She is survived by her husband, Horace A. Ray of 
Gilmer; son and daughter-in-law, Lenny and Debby Ray of Longview; 
four grandchildren and spouses, Heath and Angela Ray, Heather and 
Fred Grindle, Blake Ray, and Megan Ray; and six great-grandchildren, 
Alexis Ray, Katy Grindle, Collin Martin, Cody Grindle, Lenny Ray, 
and Mason Ray. Pallbearers will be Lynn Baxter, Kevin Hill, Chad 
Brinkman, Blake Brinkman, Anthony Betterton, Billy Wynne, Stanley 
Jenkins, Robert Cromley, and Richard Brown. Honorary pallbearers 
will be Wendell Russ, Bill Gentry, Bill Robinson, James Williams, 
and Sam Hodges. A special thank you to Summer Meadows Nursing Home 
in Longview, Heart'sWay Hospice, and Dr. Roger Kiser for their care. 
Memorial contributions may be made to Neal McCoy's East Texas Angel 
Network, 610 S. Standard St., Longview, TX 75604, in honor of Katy 
Grindle. Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Wednesday evening, December 27, 
2006, at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
