Reed, Charles Melvin 


GILMER -- Services for Charles Melvin Reed, 84, of Gilmer, will be 10 a.m. Monday, 
March 20, 2006, at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer, with the Rev. Charles 
Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Rosewood Cemetery. Arrangements are under 
the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mr. Reed passed away Friday, 
March 17, 2006, in Gilmer. Mr. Reed was born May 22, 1921, in Clarksville, Texas, to 
Hall and Ethel Reed. He was a retired machine operator at Burlington. Mr. Reed is 
survived by his wife, Georgia Reed of Gilmer, Texas; son, David Lloyd Reed of Gilmer, 
Texas; daughter, Dorothy Brown of Columbia, South Carolina; sister, Piney Burrow of 
Grand Prairie, Texas; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation 
will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, March 19, 2006, at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer.
