Reinert, William H. C.

William Henry Christopher Reinert died early Friday morning, 
February 16, 2007, at a Longview nursing home. He was born 
October 28, 1940, in New York City, N.Y., to Maria and Henry 
Reinert. After World War II, his parents were part of the 
U.S. Foreign Service, so he was raised at various posts in 
Germany, Austria, New York and Washington, D.C. He completed 
his mathematics degree at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. 
Bill served in the U.S. Army as an ordinance officer in Korea 
and was discharged in 1970 with the rank of captain. He then 
worked for Hartford Insurance Group as an underwriter in their 
St. Louis Regional Office, where he met and later married 
Diane in March of 1973. The couple moved to Ore City, Texas, 
to take care of Bill's aging parents and stayed on after they 
had passed away. Bill has worked in advertising since 1988, 
first with Longview News-Journal and later with David Farmer 
at Advertising Concepts. He purchased the agency when David 
retired in 2005; Diane joined him full time in 2006. Bill was 
particularly proud of his service to the Ore City Volunteer 
Fire Department. He joined in 1979, was named Firefighter of 
the Year in 1980 and went on to serve in various capacities, 
including training officer and city fire marshal for many 
years. His loves were many, including his wife, Diane; his 
pets; his friends; fellow firefighters; and he took great 
delight in his nieces and nephew, Jennifer, Wendy and Jake 
of Washington, D.C. His memorial service will be held at 2 
p.m. Friday, February 23, 2007, at Rader Funeral Home of 
Longview. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you 
contribute to the American Cancer Society, Heart'sWay Hospice,
