The Gilmer Weekly Mirror Thursday, March 8, 1923 SAD DEATH OF MRS. L. J. SANSOM At her home in Shady Grove Friday, March 2, 1923, Mrs. L. J. Sansom, one of the pioneer "mothers in Isreal" passed to her reward. She was 84 years of age, and her husband preceeded her to the grave by many years, but she is survived by five children, three sons and two daughters. She has been a resident of this section for 64 years, and has a host of friends who will learn of her death with deep regret. She was a consistent member of the Christian Church for the past 70 years, a noble christian woman, a loving wife, a devoted and indulgent mother, a good neighbor. Her funeral took place at Shady Grove cemetery Saturday afternoon, and was attended by a large number of friends and relatives.
