Upshur County Obit - Louis Stegall Contributed by Lea Ann Tedford "The Gilmer Mirror; July 3, 2004" LOUIS STEGALL 1919-2004 Services for our beloved husband, father, and pap-paw, Norman Louis Stegall, 84, of Tyler were held at 10a.m. Friday, July 2, at Shiloh Road Church of Christ in Tyler with Johnny Anders and Mike Warner officiating. Burial followed at Shady Grove Cemetery in Shady Grove, Texas in Upshur County under the direction of Croley Funeral Home of Gilmer. Mr. Stegall died early Wednesday morning at Hospice in Tyler. He was born Nov. 5, 1919 in Pritchett, Texas to Benjamin Franklin Stegall and Ida Bertha Hail. He retired from Welex, a division of Halliburton, with over 30 years of service. He was an active member of the Shiloh Road Church of Christ having served as an elder for many years. Prior to his moving to Tyler, he was very instrumental in the growth of the Hollywood Road Church of Christ in Houma, La., serving as on of theri original elders. He loved tinkering with antique clocks and spending time at "The Place" with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, O.M. Stegall. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Una Weldon Stegall, Tyler; sons and daughters-in-law, Lynn and Jane Stegall of Tyler and Ron and Rhonda Stegall of Des Moines, Iowa; daughter and son-in-law, Nelda and Jeff Regian of Tyler; a sister, Virginia Ross of Gilmer; grandchildre, Steven Stegall, Scott Stegall, Sherri Frye, Shanna DuBois, Sandy Burrage, Doug Kelly, Matt Kelly, B.J. Kelly, Erin Kelly and Hunter Regian; and 10 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were Ron Schultz, Travis Hunt, J.D. Osborn, Tommy Parrish, James Barton, Jim Pattillo, and Marurice Steele.
