GILMER -- Services for Calvin C. Stilwell, 88, of Big Sandy, will be held 
10 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2006, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer, 
Texas, with Dr. David Thornton officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant 
Hill Cemetery. Mr. Stilwell died Thursday, October 12, 2006, in Tyler. He was 
born August 6, 1918, in Upshur County, to Harvey Lee and Connie Hamilton 
Stilwell. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, retired from Exxon 
in Hawkins as an operator, and was a mason. Mr. Stilwell was preceded in death 
by his wives, Dorothy Cox Stilwell, Oteka Vessel Stilwell, and Vaudis Orr 
Stilwell; and one great-great-granddaughter, Brooke Thompson. He is survived 
by his one son and daughter-in-law, Charles Sidney and Zelda Stilwell of 
Gladewater; two daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda and Edward Thompson of Big 
Sandy, and Sue and David Starr of Big Sandy; sister, Alma Snider of Big Sandy; 
10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Granville 
Hill, Jim Eitel, Michael Hill, Y.A. Hill, Glenn Campbell, and David Thompson. 
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2006.
