Schmidt, Rickey   	

GILMER - Services for Rickey Schmidt, 53, of Gilmer, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, 
May 29, 2007, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer, with Charles Johnson 
officiating. Burial will be in Grice Cemetery.

Born April 27, 1954, he died Thursday, May 24, 2007. A lifelong resident of 
Upshur County, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army. On November 18, 1982, he 
married Karen Gibson in Longview, Texas. He was an air conditioning 
technician and a member of Rosewood Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Schmidt of Gilmer; four children, Erick 
C. Schmidt and wife, Heather, of Gilmer, Ryan J. Schmidt of Texarkana, Texas; 
Jordan Schmidt of Longview and Dillon T. Schmidt of Gilmer; three 
grandchildren, Bailey R. Schmidt, Zebra X. Schmidt and Zenia M.R. Schmidt; 
mother, Wanda Jean Corley; and brother, Kenny Schmidt of Cedar Creek, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Schmidt.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today, May 28, 2007, at Croley 
Funeral Home in Gilmer.
