Shelly, Ruth E. Green Services for Ruth E. Green Shelly, 83, of Longview, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2007, at the Welch Funeral Home Chapel, 4619 Judson Road. Burial will follow in Ore City Cemetery. Mrs. Shelly passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at a local nursing home. Mrs. Shelly was born October 14, 1923, in Gilmer, to James William and Eva Mae Adams Green. She worked as a librarian for the City of Longview for five years. She was of the Assembly of God faith. She was preceded in death by her son, Steve Shelly. Survivors include her son, Robert Turgeon; daughters, Sharon Kurpen, Gloria Tessier and Michele Souza; brothers, James Aubrey Green and O'Neal Green, both of Longview, Horace Green of Boerne and Joe Green of Diana; sisters, Eva Mae Humphrey, Mavinee Green and Sue Sellers, all of Longview, Carolyn Mimms of Austin; eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. this evening, May 4, 2007, at the funeral home.
