Skinner, Burley Ray DIANA - Graveside services for Burley Ray Skinner, 88, of the Ashland community, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at Ashland Cemetery, with Bro. Paul Chandler and Bro. Dickey Mauk officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Mr. Skinner passed away Friday, May 25, 2007, in Marshall. Mr. Skinner was born May 18, 1919, in Gilmer, to Howard and Dovie Skinner. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and he was retired as store manager for Safeway in Gilmer. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Pat Skinner; and brothers, Horace O'Neil and Billy Wayne Skinner. He is survived by a son, Daniel Ray Skinner of Diana; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce and Bill Taylor of Levellan and Bettie and Charles Barber of Marshall; and grandchildren, Samantha M. and Johnny Boland of Longview and Melissa Compton of Little Rock, Ark. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 28, 2007, at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana.
