Smith, Pauline Price SHREVEPORT - A service celebrating the life of Mrs. Pauline Price Smith will begin at 11a.m. Monday, November 12, 2007, at Frost Chapel of First Baptist Church of Shreveport. Officiating will be Dr. Greg Hunt, pastor of First Baptist. Private family graveside will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today, November 11, at Osborn Funeral Home. Mrs. Smith died from natural causes on Thursday, November 8, 2007. She was born in Pritchett, Texas, in 1914, and had resided in Shreveport since 1953. She was a member of First Baptist Church for the past 54 years. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Houston and Crystal Speir Price; her sister-in-law, Evelyn Maness; and her husband of 59 years, Ivan Smith, with whom she helped found Ivan Smith Furniture in 1961. She is survived by three children, Melba S. and Parnell Oldham, Sharon S. and Jim Mabus, and Ivan Smith Jr. and wife, Gloria; one brother-in-law, Marlin Smith; nine grandchildren, Dr. Randall Ivan Davis, Andrea McCurdy, Laurie McDonald, Mark Mabus, Polly Mabus, Dr. Lisa Hodges, Ivan Smith III, Emily Geneves and Jonathan Smith; 13 great-grandchildren; and several beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers will be Randy Davis, Jon McCurdy, Mark Mabus, Ivan Smith III, Jonathan Smith and Sal Geneves. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Maness, Dick Jett, Ken Smith and Earnest Marshall. The family wishes to express appreciation to Dr. Paul Wilson and staff, and the beloved caretakers.
