Stevens, Roscoe GLADEWATER - Services for Roscoe Stevens, 85, of Union Grove, will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 21, 2007, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gladewater with Larry W. Osborne officiating. Burial will be in West Mountain Cemetery. Born December 11, 1921, in West Salem, Illinois, to Elza and Mary Stevens, he entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 18, 2007. He was the third of five sons and all preceded him in death. He was a local builder and retired vocational building trades teacher for Gladewater Independent School District, having retired in 1986. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. He was the recipient of five campaign stars and one Bronze Star medal. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Phill and Jo Ann Stevens of Pritchett; two daughters and son-in-law, Jacque Yeary and Patti and James Rogers, all of Union Grove; three grandchildren, Jon Rogers of Longview, Jake Rogers and Allison and Weldon Wilson, all of Union Grove, five great- grandchildren, August and Taylor Rogers and Winter, Wyleigh and Will Wilson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Malene Watkins Stevens. Pallbearers will be Jake Rogers, Wayne Pope, Jon Rogers, Milton Yeary, James Rogers and Weldon Wilson. If desired, memorials may be made to the Don Humphries Vocational Scholarship Fund, City National Bank, 1625 Broadway, Gladewater, TX 75647.
