Memorial services for James Edward “Jim” Schanley, 67, of Big Sandy were held on Saturday, November 20, 2013, at the Gladewater Bible Church, with Pastor Luke Kimbley officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater.
 
Born on August 5, 1946, he died on Wednesday, November 20, 2013.
 
He was a graduate of Pine Tree High School and attended Stephen F. Austin University.
 
For many years he was a finance manager for the automobile industry.
