UPSHUR COUNTY - UNKNOWN CEMETERY Loy R. Skinner, Jr. Born: January 27, 1928 Died: June 26, 2016 GILMER- Funeral services for Loy R. Skinner, Jr., 88, of Gilmer, Texas will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Gilmer with Reverend Todd Kaunitz officiating. Services will be under the direction of Croley Funeral Home. Mr. Skinner passed away on June 26, 2016. Mr. Skinner was born on January 27, 1928 in Cass County to Loy Skinner, Sr. and Ruby Goodson Skinner. He was the Superintendent of the Combustion and Instrument Department at Lone Star Steel where he was employed for 38 years. Mr. Skinner was a member of Bethesda Masonic Lodge #142, AF & AM. and was a Shriner. Mr. Skinner is survived by his son, David Skinner and wife, Karen; daughters, Mary Ann Gipson and husband, Dennis, Linda Bowden and husband, Ronnie; grandchildren, Mark Skinner and wife, Julie, Jana Lindsay and husband, Jimmy, Amy Carrol and husband, Billy, Apryl Gipson, Chris Bowden and wife, Stacy, Stacy Holley and husband, Billy, Mandi Carpenter, and Nikki Bowden; great grandchildren, Dylan Skinner, Emma Lindsay, Ann Elise Lindsay, Porter Carrol, Kyle Bowden and wife, Kate, Jacob Holley, Noah Holley, Carter Carpenter, Kaylee Fyffe, Kane Schuler, and one great-great granddaughter, Hadley Jean Bowden. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Diddy, who passed away on March 20, 2008, and his great granddaughter, Avery Grace Holley. Pallbearers will be Chris Bowden, Mark Skinner, Jimmy Lindsay, Billy Holley, Billy Carrol, and Todd Parish. The Workers Class of First Baptist Church will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
