UPSHUR COUNTY - SUNSET MEMORIAL PARK GILMER- Mildred Causey Tackett, 86, of Ore City, Texas passed from this life on Friday, November 11, 2016. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer with Reverend Jack Hoffpauir officiating under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. She was born on September 8, 1930, to Solon A. and Lola Mae Thomas Causey in Kilgore, Texas. She was married to the love of her life, Russell Junior Tackett on June 19, 1948. Mildred was a member of Coffeeville Baptist Church in Ore City and enjoyed the friendship of all her church family. Mrs. Tackett was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Dorothy Martin and Audrey Causey; her son Mark Tackett and her husband, Russell Tackett. She is survived by her daughter, Janice Walker and husband, Al of Ore City; daughter-in-law, Lajuana Tackett of Gilmer; granddaughters, Cindi Turner and husband Theron, and Nina Walker all of Ore City; and grandson, Clifford Tackett and Kristin Nolan of Gilmer and great- grandchildren, Nathan and Ben Turner, Ava, Aaron, Zoie, Logan Tackett and Chance Blythe. The family would like to thank our church family and friends who kept us lifted up with their prayers, the medical staff at Longview Regional and Select Specialty Hospital in Longview and the nurses and staff at Upshur Manor in Gilmer who tended to her in her final days with us. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer.
