UPSHUR COUNTY - GRICE CEMETERY


Funeral services for Bobby E. Thompson, 71, of Gilmer will be held 10 A.M. Saturday, December 12, 2015 at McWhorter Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Donny Chamberlain and Tim Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Grice Cemetery in Upshur County. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Bobby was born August 5, 1944 to A.Z. and Doris Thompson, in Pittsburg and died December 10, 2015 at his home in Gilmer.

He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the war in Vietnam. He was the owner of Thompson Construction for many years.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Thompson; children, Michelle Palmer and husband Rodney, Chad Thompson and wife Misty, Tracy Brown, Clint Brown, and Candace Couch and husband Jonas. Grandchildren, Brennan Thompson, Dylan Brown, Bailey Palmer, Macee Thompson, Brant Palmer, Kyli Thompson, Jake Couch, Alex Brown, Halle Thompson, Zach Couch, and Aubry Thompson. Sister, Gaynell Cornette.

He is preceeded in death by his parents, son; Todd Andrew Thompson; grandson; Wesley Cole Thompson, sisters; Maxine Wheeler and Frankie Thompson Lange, brother; Arville Thompson.
