Thompson, Geneva McCellon GILMER --Services for Geneva McCellon Thompson, 73, of Gilmer, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 31, 2006, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Charles Johnson and Brian Faulkner officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. Born February 20, 1933, in Upshur County, the Grice community, she entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 28, 2006. She was a homemaker and a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Wayne Thompson of Winnsboro; three daughters and sons-in-law, Rolanda and Larry Barton of Gilmer, Kerri and Jimmy Stegall of Gilmer, and Kristy and Jonathan Rygg of San Antonio; five grandchildren, Amanda and Robby Grandgeorge, Joshua Barton, Colton Stegall, Kadyn Stegall and Zachery Rygg; three brothers, Ervin McCellon of Gilmer, J.L. McCellon of Gilmer, and Charles McCellon of Longview; two sisters, Weedie Scarpella of Wray, Colo., and Sally Evans of Gilmer. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Dedi Ariette, and her sister, Virginia Shaw. Pallbearers will be James Jones, Seth Stout, Robby Grandgeorge, Gabriel Stout, Larry Stout and Wayne Buchanan. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Allen, Byron Roberts, David Jones and Dan Goodwin. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today, October 30, 2006, at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
