Thweatt, Jerrianne Dean GILMER -- Jerrianne Dean Thweatt, 70, of Canyon, died Wednesday, November 15, 2006. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2006, at Gilmer Church of Christ, with David Lough, minister of University Church of Christ in Canyon, officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer. Arrangements are by Croley Funeral Home of Gilmer and Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mrs. Thweatt was born July 12, 1936, in Simpsonville, to Jerry and Maggie Maloney Dean. She was raised in Simpsonville and was valedictorian of the Union Hill High School Class of 1953. She worked at Wyeth Laboratories in Dallas, where she met Harry Thweatt. They married November 7, 1959, in Gilmer. With their children, they lived in Dallas, Denver, and Medina, Ohio. They returned to Texas, living in Fairview, where Jerri worked at the Farm Bureau in McKinney and at Fry Wholesale Lumber Co. in Garland. After she retired, she lived in Oakwood and Canyon. While she worked outside the home, she was primarily a homemaker, creating a warm and loving environment for family and friends. Jerri was a member of University Church of Christ of Canyon, Texas, and Ladies Bible Class, Red Hat Club, and the Extension Education Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, Gerald Raymond Dean; and a sister, Ella Mae Dean Harris. Survivors include her husband, Harry of Canyon; two sons, Gary Thweatt of Plano, and Ronald and Romaine Thweatt of Sturtevant, Wis.; a daughter, Laura Hamilton of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Jillian and Caroline Hamilton, and Christopher and Carson Thweatt; three brothers, John Edward Dean and wife, Mary Jo, Everett Dean and wife, Jo, and Bill Dean and wife, Virginia, all of Gilmer; three sisters, Winnie Kennedy of Gladewater, Rose Thacker of Gilmer, and Margie Mangum of McKinney; numerous nieces and nephews; and additional friends also survive Jerrianne. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or a favorite charity.
