Vickery, Buddy Services for Buddy Vickery, 69, of Longview, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2007, at First Baptist Church in Diana, with the Rev. Gary May officiating. Burial will follow in Reed Cemetery. Arrangements are by Welch Funeral Home. Mr. Vickery died September 27, 2007, at a local medical center. Born September 2, 1938, in Goat Ranch, Ala., he was an operator for Sabine Disposal Co. and a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Rita; daughters, Cynthia Harris, Renee Phillips and Michelle London; sons, Frank Vickery and Raymond Vickery; sisters, Willadean Perez and Gail Spann; and brothers, Donald Vickery, Billy Vickery and Kenneth Vickery. Buddy was born September 2, 1938, in the small community of Goat Ranch, Alabama, to Belton and Lillie Corkren Vickery. Buddy married Rita Adian December 9, 1957, in Idabel, Oklahoma. He worked for Sabine Disposal Co. as an operator and was a Baptist. Buddy was an avid University of Alabama football fan. He enjoyed fishing and get-togethers with family and friends. Buddy often participated in benefits to help his friends in need. Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, J.H. Vickery and J.B. Vickery; and sister, Kathlene Mayfield. Survivors include his wife, Rita of Longview; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Chris Harris of Longview; son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Jana Vickery of Odessa; daughter and son-in-law, Renee and David Phillips of Kilgore; son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Cindy Vickery of Diana; daughter, Michelle London of Woodbury, Minnesota; grandchildren, Philip, Lorrie, Joshua, Taylor, Brandon, Nicole, Justin, Lindsay, Ashley and Jesse; great- grandchildren, Destini, Devon, Carmen, Caleb, Aniya, and Nicholas; sisters, Willadean Perez of Glen Rose, Texas, and Gail Spann of Winfield, Alabama; brothers, Donald Vickery of Diana, Billy Vickery of Hallsville and Kenneth Vickery of Longview; many in-laws, nieces, nephews, as well as close friends.
