Obituary for Fern Arrington Walles, 1983, in the Deseret 
News, Salt Lake City, Utah

FERN C. WALLES

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Fern Christyne 
Arrington Walles died January 1, 1983 in Sandy, Utah. Born June 
19, 1917 in Gilmer, Texas to Emery T. and Anna Lou Arrington. 
Married Weldon O. Walles July 29, 1938 in Texas. Marriage later 
solemnized in the Mesa LDS Temple. Member of the Church of Jesus 
Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a genealogist and held many 
positions in the LDS Church. She was an employee of the Jordon 
School District.

Survivors: husband and five children; Beverly Johnson, James D. 
Walles, Sue Utley, Robert W. Walles and Ronald P. Walles and 18 
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie Chitwood, 
Grace White; brothers, Maurice Arrington, Rozelle Arrington, 
Glynn Arrington, Preston Arrington and Jimmy Arrington, all of 
Texas. She was preceeded in death by two brothers.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at twelve noon in the Butler 
LDS Chapel. Internment will be at the Lake Hills Cemetery in Sandy.
