Walters, Margaret 


GLADEWATER -- Services for Margaret Walters, 87, of Big 
Sandy, will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 2006, at 
First Baptist Church in Big Sandy, with the Rev. Seth E. 
Johnston officiating. Burial will be in Chilton Cemetery 
of Big Sandy. Mrs. Walters was born March 17, 1919, in 
Vidor, Texas, and she entered into eternal rest on 
Wednesday, August 2, 2006. She was a devoted wife, loving 
mother and grandmother, and loyal member of First Baptist 
Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Caswell 
and Alta Peveto; two sisters; two brothers; and son-in-law, 
Douglas Lane. Mrs. Walters is survived by her husband of 
63 years, Russell Walters; daughter and son-in-law, Margaret 
Ann and Charles Stone of Abilene, and Cindy and Ray Chitwood 
of Longview; five grandchildren, Lori Williams, Keeli Bond, 
Russ Stone, Stephen Lane, and Courtney Lane; four 
great-grandchildren, Joshua Bates, Sierra Greenlee, Grant 
Bond, and Rowan Bond; brother, Dr. Sidney Peveto of Sherman; 
and special nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Charles 
Stone, Ray Chitwood, Russ Stone, Stephen Lane, Jerrod Lake, 
and Curtis "Buzz" Payne. Honorary pallbearer will be Charles 
Penny. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Saturday 
evening, August 5, 2006, at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater.
