Weaver, Leslie W. "Les" GILMER - Funeral services for Leslie "Les" W. Weaver, of Gilmer, Texas, will be held at 2 p.m. today, April 21, 2007, at the Gilmer Church of Christ, with Jeff Procter officiating. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2007, at Moore Cemetery at 1219 North Davis in Arlington, Texas. Mr. Weaver passed away Thursday, April 19, 2007, in Gilmer. Our beloved Leslie "Les" W. Weaver passed from this life into his heavenly home Thursday, April 19, 2007. He had fought a courageous and inspiring 4-1/2 year battle with heart disease. He never complained or felt sorry for himself, only continuing to believe in the power of God. He was born February 5, 1937, in DeQueen, Arkansas, to Owen and Ella Weaver. He moved to Dallas in 1943, where he resided until April 1999, when he moved to Gilmer, Texas. He graduated in 1955 from Grand Prairie High School and attended Arlington State College. He served eight years in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. Mr. Weaver was an active member of the Gilmer and Turnpike Church of Christ, having served as a deacon over the missions ministry. He spent nearly all of his adult life involved in supporting foreign and local missionaries. Mr. Weaver retired in 1994 after a 38-year career in production control with LTV/Vought Aircraft in Grand Prairie, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of 32 years, Joan Prater Weaver. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Gilmer; son, Keith Weaver and wife, Donna of Mansfield; daughter, Sharissa Paulger and husband, Brent of Lubbock; stepson, Jeff Chapman of Fayetteville, Ark.; sisters, Joyce Mastrouboni and husband, Gibby of Trinidad, Texas, Linda Weaver of Arlington, Texas, Kay Springer of Kemp, Texas, and Phyllis Kuster and husband, Uli of Arlington, Texas; his "pride and joy" grandchildren, Preston and Nolan Weaver of Mansfield, Texas, and Mariah and Seth Paulger of Lubbock, Texas; special uncle, Coleman McRae of DeQueen, Arkansas; mother-in-law, Edith Rogers of Corpus Christi, Texas; and numerous family members and friends who meant so much.
