Williams, 81, of 200 Madison St., Gilmer, were scheduled for Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. J.C. Henderson was to officiate with burial at Sunset Memorial Park. Mr Williams died Tuesday morning at Gilmer Hospital after a long illness. Born April 4, 1897 in Louisiana, he had lived in Upshur County most of his life, being employed as a farmer. He was married on Dec. 17, 1916 and was a member of the Calvery Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Polly Williams; one son, R.F. Williams Jr. of Center; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Townsend and Mrs. Belle Morgan, both of Gilmer, and Mrs Pauline McWhorter of Diana; two brothers, Wayne Williams of McKinney and Burton Williams of Lubbock; one sister, Mrs. Gladys McPeek of San Angelo; 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Named Pallbearers were Ronnie Morgan, Robbie Williams, Mitchell Williams, Sid McWhorter, Ronald McNair, Larry Smelley, Dick Blakely, Tommy Emanis, Glen Robertson, Martin Potter and Preston McWhorter.
