Wilson, Wallace "Frog" MARSHALL - Services for Wallace "Frog" Wilson, 92, of Jefferson, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 16, 2007, at Walnut Creek Baptist Church in Diana, with the Rev. Mickey Davidson and the Rev. Perry Crisp officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Creek Cemetery of Diana. Arrangements are by Downs Funeral Home. Mr. Wilson died August 12, 2007, in Longview. Born November 21, 1914, in Old Diana, he operated an Exxon station, owned a grocery store and was a member of Walnut Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include his son, Loy Wilson. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the church. Interment will follow in Walnut Creek Cemetery of Diana. Wallace Wilson was born November 21, 1914, in Old Diana, to Benjamin and Alice Griffin Wilson. Wallace married Laura "Sweetie" Bassham on May 13, 1938, in Gregg County, and she preceded him in death on August 23, 2006. He and his wife ran the first self-service station for Exxon in Diana. They had formerly been in the antique business and owned a grocery store in the Ashland Community. Wallace was a member of the Walnut Creek Baptist Church in Diana. Mr. Wilson is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Loy and Ima Wilson of Deer Park; four grandchildren, Shane Wilson of Diana, Asa Wilson of Gilmer, Heath Wilson and wife, Deborah of Ore City, and Brook Wilson and wife, Lynn of La Porte; and four great- grandchildren, Lauren, Jonathan, Jessica and Jena Wilson. Memorial contributions may be made to Walnut Creek Baptist Church. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2007, at Walnut Creek Baptist Church.
