Comments: Ruby Ann Davis and Otis Valentine Pool had 11 children...of the 9 children who lived to adulthood, 1 is deceased and the remainder still reside in Upshur Co., Texas.  Additional information on this family:
As a man with a family, George left his "farm" or "homestead" (unknown exactly what he had or where) in Upshur Co., he loaded up all the possessions he could carry and his family in a wagon and began a journey around East Texas and into Oklahoma, working at odd jobs to support his family.  One of the frequent jobs was logging, especially in Cass County close to Bryan's Mill. The family lived in the wagon during this period...1900 to 1903.  Two of his children died during this wagon "tour". George also died, while logging in Cass County, close to Bryan's Mill. His family was left on their own to get back to Upshur Co.  He was buried in Cass Co. at Bryan's Mill. In Cass County, not far from Bryan's Mill is a cemetery known as the New Hope Cemetery.  There is a rock marker, marked only with G.D. on it. The historical society of Cass County states this is the burial of George
Davis (unknown the basis for their statement, unless some older native knew the history of the cemetery).  Their record also indicate that the cemetery land was donated about 1900 to bury the baby of a family who was
traveling and working in the area.  It is possible that this is the burial site of Pearl, who died about 1900, and the burial site of George, himself.  Some members of the family have told the story that he was buried close to Pearl.
