Comments: Alexander "Sandy" Nicholson was only 14 1/2 when he joined the 35th MS.Inf.Co.A along with his father. He came to Upshur Co.in 1872 where he settled in the northwestern part, which he farmed and donated
land for the Piney Grove Church and Cem.
