GLADEWATER MEMORIAL PARK - UPSHUR COUNTY Graveside services for Billie Faye Carwile, 91, of Big Sandy, Texas will be Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Gladewater Memorial Park with Dr. Donald Ward officiating. Services are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater, Texas. Billie Faye Carwile was born on December 19, 1923 in Walnut Springs, Texas. In 1942, Billy Faye graduated from Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas and began her long career as a registered nurse. In the 1950’s she moved to California and was hired by what became the Worldwide Church of God and Ambassador College. She returned to Texas in the late 1960’s, and settled in the Big Sandy area where she continued to serve many senior citizens until her retirement in 1995. She died on March 11, 2015 after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Horatio Carwile and Mary Eula McAdoo Carwile, and her two sisters, Martha Beatrice Hicks and Minnie “Kitty” Katherine Bryan. She is survived by her niece, Katrinka Bryan-Thario of San Diego, California and two nephews, Michauel Bryan of San Diego, California and Allan Warren Hicks of Ft. Worth, Texas.
