January 19, 1935 - May 31, 2013 Services for Hubert"Boogie Man" Feagin,78,of East Mountain will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday,June 4,2013,at the East Mountain Baptist Church in East Mountain with Pastor Tim Smith Officiating.Burial will follow at East Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery.Mr.Feagin passed away Friday,May 31,2013.Boogie was born on January 19,1935 to H.C. and Ruby Speights Feagin.He married Barbara Denmon in May of 1987. Boogie was preceded in death by his father H.C.Feagin,Sr., mother Ruby Porter and husband Jack;and his two sisters Norma McFarland and Mary Burns. He is survuved by his wife Barbara Feagin of East Mountain; daughter Cindy Feagin of Sonora,TX;sons Chip Feagin and wife Jenny,of Bullard,and Adam Dowmont of East Mountain; three granddaughters Page,Cirra,and Emma Feagin and two grandsons Cavan Dowmont and Zach Wheeler:and his special children Benny Whrenberg,DanaFulce,and Janet Whitaker,and many nieces and nephews. Boogie retired from Texas Eastman after a combined service of forty years.He was a fifty plus year Mason from Lodge 404 in Pine Tree. Boogie was known as a great welder.He loved playing his guitar and piano.He was known to dance a few steps in his lifetime. After nearly dying in 2010,he found his way back to the Lord.He delighted in sharing his testimony at every opportinity. He was an avid historian and took great pride in his Confederate history.He was an active member of the Upshur County Patriots.He loved to promote that the Civil War had many diverse reasons. Boogie was a much loved man not only by his family,and his church family,but the multitudes of friends he left behind.
