UPSHUR COUNTY - CREMATION

(Note:  Cremation; however she had pallbearers)

Memorial services for Mattye Lou Bishop Orms, 80, of Jefferson, will be held on Friday, July 17, 2015, at 3 P.M. at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer.

Born on May 14, 1935, in Gilmer, Texas, she died on Tuesday, July 14, 2015. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-one years, B.J. Orms of Jefferson; three sons, Vernon Orms of Gladewater; Joey Orms and wife, Patty, of Jefferson; and Jimmy Orms and wife, Shelly, of Jefferson; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Billy Bishop and wife, Joan, of Maine and Timmy Bishop of Gladewater; five sisters, Vernell Bishop of Big Sandy; Jo Beth Bishop of Big Sandy; Bennita Merrell and husband, George, of Big Sandy; Twyla Madden of Gladewater; and Becky Edwards and husband, Jim, of Glenwood, Iowa; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Gladys Bishop; sisters, Gwendalyn Thompson, Saundra Newton, and Stacy Bishop; and brother, Ricky Bishop.

Honorary pallbearers will be Vernon Orms, Jimmy Orms, Dallas Orms, Ashley Keller Orms, Joey Orms, Briscoe Orms, and Gary Dacus.
